Small Screen

Lyn Oakes Limited is proud to have supplied uniforms for ITV’s iconic soap Coronation Street, working with the costume department to create a fitting look for one of its beloved characters. We had the pleasure of crafting a bespoke funeral director’s outfit for George Shuttleworth, played by the fantastic actor Tony Maudsley. Our team worked closely behind the scenes to ensure every detail of the uniform reflected the character’s Funeral Director's profession with authenticity and style. From precise measurements to expert tailoring, we delivered a look that feels both believable and true to the soap’s prime-time standards. We also supplied looks for actress Sally Dexter who plays Faith in ITV's soap Emmerdale. As a trusted supplier to the TV and film industry, Lyn Oakes is committed to providing high-quality, character-driven garments that help bring stories—and characters—to life.

Big Screen

We were delighted to support the costume department for Disney’s Cruella, supplying a range of black raincoats, jackets, tailcoats, shirts, and accessories during the challenging Covid period. Our garments were worn by numerous extras in the film’s, seen in striking black-tie party scenes, helping create a cohesive, high-end look across the ensemble cast. Most notably, our raincoats were chosen for the bodyguard characters of Baroness von Hellman, played by Emma Thompson—featured throughout the film. Despite tight timelines and pandemic restrictions, we delivered on schedule and to the highest standards, trusted by Baduns Production Company to meet the demands of a fantastic feature film. It was a exciting project that showcased our reliability, adaptability, and commitment to quality under pressure. We also supplied a few costume pieces for Disney's Rivals as well as the acclaimed costume house Angels Costumes.

From top hats, tailoring to shoes - we have experience to supply looks for individual characters, or larger-scale cast member teams. We've made historical garments in the past such as Edwardian style jackets, as well as ceremonial style outfits for Town Criers and Councils. Our experienced workroom can create samples, make alterations and work with your costume department teams. We have a in-house pattern maker who can assist with developing garments, as well as access to a plethora of contacts within the industry such as cloth mills, merchants and trimming specialists who can help achieve the desired looks.
