Measuring from Home

Chest size:

Measure the chest circumference around the widest point of your chest. Breathe out and stand in a relaxed stance.

 

Bust:

Measure horizontally under the arms around the fullest part of the bust. To get the under-bust, move the tape to the upper ribcage area under the fullest part of the bust.

 

Jacket Length:

Please a tape measure at the nape of the neck, in the centre of where the back seam meets the collar. Measure closely down the back of the body, carefully to cater for the waist or seat, to the chosen length.

 

Trouser Waist:

Measure around your waist where you normally wear your trousers. Make sure that this is a body measure, not over garments you are wearing.

 

Trouser Length:

This is measured from the inseam crotch down the inside of the leg to the required leg length. You can also measure the side seam of a garment, and specify the ‘rise’ you would like the trousers to have.

Overcoats:

Lyn Oakes overcoats are cut to be worn over a jacket, so have space to allow this.

If to be worn without a jacket, select one size down.

 

Short fitting: 42 chest measures 41 inch back length 24 ½ inch sleeve length.

Regular fitting: 42 chest measures 43 inch back length 25 ½ inch sleeve length.

Long fitting: 42 chest measures 45 inch back length 26 ½ inch sleeve length.

 

Raincoats:

Lyn Oakes raincoats are cut to be worn over a jacket, so have space to allow this.

If to be worn without a jacket, select one size down.

 

Short fitting: 42 chest measures 41 inch back length 24 ½ inch sleeve length.

Regular fitting: 42 chest measures 43 inch back length 25 ½ inch sleeve length.

Long fitting: 42 chest measures 45 inch back length 26 ½ inch sleeve length.

 

The ‘Whipcord’ raincoat has a raglan sleeve for ease of movement when also wearing a jacket.

 

Short fitting: 42 chest measures 39 inch back length 24 ½ inch sleeve length.

Regular fitting: 42 chest measures 41 inch back length 25 ½ inch sleeve length.

Long fitting: 42 chest measures 43 inch back length 26 ½ inch sleeve length.

 

Jackets:

Regular fitting: 42 chest measures 31 inch back length 25 ½ inch sleeve length.

 

Classic fit: this is a roomy cut, perfect for the traditional gentleman’s look

Tailored fit: this is a fitted cut, perfect for a modern man, our most popular fit

Fashion/slim fit: this is a very fitted cut, slim line cut close to the body, a fashion forward look

 

Waistcoats:

Lyn Oakes waistcoats fit true to size. Below are the nape to front point measures for single-breasted waistcoats.

Regular fitting: 29 ¾ inch

Long fitting: 31 ½ inch

Extra long fitting: 33 inch

 

Trousers:

Lyn Oakes trousers fit true to size.

Short length: 29 inch

Regular length: 31 inch

Long length: 33 inch
